Detective Tye W. Jackson has been in law enforcement since 1999. He began his career working with the Louisville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Detective Jackson has been a full time police officer in Kentucky for seven years and a K9 handler for three. Detective Jackson is currently assigned to the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and the Calloway County Sheriff's Office. He is an active member and the Kentucky Representative for the National Criminal Enforcement Association and a current member of the Sheriff's Highway Interdcition Program (S.H.I.P.). Detective Jackson has successfully prosecuted more than 1,500 drug cases in his career. He has testified as an expert witness in United States District Court for the United States Attorney's Office, Western District of Kentucky. Having worked all aspects of narcotics investigations and often a liasion between federal agencies and local and state level law
enforcement, Detective Jackson has assisted in assest forfieture for drug trafficking cases. Detective Jackson was named Police Officer of the Year for the Mayfield Police Department in 2005 and was named Case Officer of the Year for the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force for 2007. A veteren of the United States Army, Jackson has attended numerous military training courses including courses specializing in demolition. Detective Jackson received several awards while serving in the military, including the "Top Gun" award in 1997. Jackson has trained several canines, including his current partner, Gabriel, a four year old Malinois.
